January 4: DVD Preview Club members will preview a collection of new Bonsai DVD's
purchased to add to our library.
February 1: "New Stuff in Bonsai" Donna Shirley will present a discussion on what's
new in the world of bonsai.
March 1: Phoenix Graft Demo Club President Paul Weishaar will do a demonstration
on how to prepare deadwood for a phoenix graft bonsai then do a phoenix graft using

April 5: Phoenix Graft Workshop This workshop will feature the use of collected
dead wood and young Shimpaku juniper to create a "phoenix graft" bonsai.
April 16 & 17: Marco Invernizzi Demonstration & Workshops Marco will present a styling
demonstration on a conifer species yet to be determined, and conduct both a "bring
your own tree" and a 5-needle pine styling workshop.

May 3: Larch Forest Workshop Participants will be led by Paul Weishaar in the planting

June 7: Care & Styling of Maples Presented by Mark Fields, this workshop will focus
on the care, styling, and maintenance of various maples species.

sale at the Garfield Park Conservatory.

July 5: Tropical Bonsai Workshop Mike Devore will lead a workshop on tropical bonsai
material. Participants will have a choice of tropical bonsai material provided by
Mike on which to work. Reservations required 14 days in advance. Costs vary based
on materials desired. Observers welcome.
August 2: BYOT* Workshop This meeting will be an opportunity for club members to bring
in their own trees to be critiqued by others. Members may bring up to 3 of their
bonsai for a constructive review and critique on styling, pot selection, appearance
and general care.
August 18 – 20: Chicago Bonsai Show, Glencoe, IL The 29th Annual Mid- America Bonsai
Exhibit and Show will be held in the later part of August. In spite of construction
at the Chicago Botanic Garden, they have been assured that they can still hold it

September 9: Penrod Arts Fair The Indianapolis Bonsai Club will participate in and
have bonsai on sale at the Penrod Art Fair at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. This
is our primary fund raising event and any member is welcome to bring bonsai and supplies
to sell. Hours are from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
September 23 - November 12: White River Gardens The club will repeat its very successful
show at White River Garden Conservatory, next to the Indianapolis Zoo. The exhibit
will be shown in the White River Gardens Greenhouse. The Club will also sponsor
a bonsai sale at the Gardens on September 23 and 24. Workshops and demonstrations
for the exhibition will also be announced later.

October 4: "Bonsai 101" As a follow- up to the White River Gardens and Penrod bonsai
sales, the IBC will have a “ Bonsai 101” introduction to bonsai workshop. [ Top ]
November 1: Bonsai Tools The club membership will hold the election of officers 2007- 2009.
Additionally, the White River Garden award ribbons will be presented to the winners
in the Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Open classes. A sign- up sheet will also
be available for the November 17 workshop. The meeting will also include a presentation
on discussing various bonsai tools, wire sizes, and winter storage for deciduous
and conifer trees. Tools and wire will be available for purchase by members.
November 17: Suthin Sukosovist "Bring Your Own Tree" Workshop Suthin Sukosovist will
be here Friday evening, November 17, 2006, for a “bring your own tree” workshop.
The workshop will be limited to 8 participants. Any IBC member may attend as an observer
and we urge you to come. The workshop will begin around 6:30 PM and last until we

December 6: Annual Christmas Dinner The IBC will hold its annual Christmas dinner
at the Chinese Ruby restaurant starting at 6:30 PM, with dinner at 7:00 PM. The
meeting will include the usual dead bonsai contest and bonsai material raffle for
all paid club members.
