Is it time to repot your bonsai? Learn how to do this important procedure correctly and get expert guidance. A bonsai museum curator will teach repotting concepts and skills, giving individual attention to each tree the student brings in. Limit of one large or two small bonsai per student. The 27th annual MABS Spring Festival ,April 16-18, at our family-friendly location, the Hudson Valley Resort &Spa in Kerhonkson, New York.

Renowned international professional bonsai artists, Charles Ceronio (South Africa), Michele Andolfo (Italy), and Michel Phaneuf (Canada), will present lecture/demonstrations, workshops, and critiques of bonsai. Registrants will have weekend-long opportunities to observe and spend time with the artist between demonstrations, and to view the exhibit trees which will be displayed by MABS member clubs. Annual Spring Bonsai Festival sponsored by the U.S. National Arboretum, the Potomac Bonsai Association, and the National Bonsai Foundation. Admission is free and hours are from 8 - 5. There will be displays of PBA member's bonsai trees, demonstrations by Steven Tolley, beginner's,intermediate, and advanced workshops, Regional New Talent competition,and the 2nd Regional Juried Show. Local bonsai artists will lead the beginner's workshops and Steven Tolley will lead the intermediate & advanced workshops. He will also judge the New Talent Competition and the Regional Juried Show. Schedules and registration for these events will be on the U.S. National Arboretum website. Photographs of trees to be considered for the Juried Show must be submitted to Chuck Croft crcroft@mindspring.com by 1 April 2010. Selections for participation in the show will be made by a representative of each of the sponsoring organizations. Participants will be notified or their acceptance or not by 15 April 2010 and trees must be delivered to the USNA Bonsai and Penjing museum on 29 April 2010.
